New 2025 NCGA House & Senate Members: The Full List

This week, the North Carolina FreeEnterprise Foundation (NCFREE) is excited to provide you with a full list of new members to the General Assembly going into 2025 for both the House and Senate. We have included (very) short biographies on each, and how competitive their district was in the 2024 General Election.

NC Senate New Members:

District 18: Terence Everitt (D – Wake, Granville)
Terence Everitt resides in Wake Forest, where he runs a legal practice and serves on the Board of Directors for the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce. A graduate of Catholic University of America and the Columbus School of Law, Everitt is married with two children.

District 22: Sophie Chitlick (D – Durham)
Sophie Chitlicka former staff member for Barack Obama’s campaign and White House team, also worked at the Labor Department and served as COO of the Future Project, a national education non-profit. She is a graduate of New York University.
2024 Margin of Victory: 71.96% (70,170 votes)

District 31: Dana Caudill Jones (R – Forsyth, Stokes)
Dana Caudill Jones, born and raised in Kernersville, operates her family business, Caudill’s Commercial Electric, with her husband. A High Point University graduate, Jones has served on the Forsyth County Board of Education, the Kernersville YMCA Board, and the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce Board. She was appointed to the Senate in 2024 to fill a vacancy.

District 41: Caleb Theodros (D – Mecklenburg)
Caleb Theodros is the former Chair of the Charlotte Equitable Development Commission and the Black Political Caucus for Charlotte-Mecklenburg. He holds a degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

District 42: Mrs. Woodson Bradley (D – Mecklenburg)
Woodson Bradleya realtor in Charlotte, owns and operates Woodson Bradley Real Estate, recognized by Forbes as the “Most Dependable Realtor on the East Coast.” She is married with three children.

District 45: Mark Hollo (R – Caldwell, Catawba)
Mark Holloa retired physician’s assistant, Air Force reservist, and adjunct professor at Lenoir-Rhyne University’s PA program, previously served three terms in the NC House (2004, 2010, 2012). He is a Wake Forest University School of Medicine graduate.

NC House New Members:

District 14: Wyatt Gable (R – Onslow)
Wyatt Gablea senior at East Carolina University studying business, resides in Onslow County. He is the former president of ECU’s Turning Point USA chapter.

District 24: Dante Pittman (D – Wilson)
Dante Pittmana UNC-Chapel Hill graduate and NC National Guard captain, serves on several civic and non-profit boards in Wilson County.

District 27: Rodney D. Pierce (D – Halifax, Northampton, Warren)
Rodney D. Piercea public school teacher in Roanoke Rapids, serves on the Board of Directors for the Edward Cheek House. He is an advocate for the Leandro Plan to fund public schools.

District 32: Bryan Cohn (D – Granville, Vance)
Bryan Cohna lifelong resident of Henderson, serves on the Oxford Board of Commissioners and works in the agriculture industry. He is married with three children.

District 33: Monika Johnson-Hostler (D – Wake)
Monika Johnson-Hostler, Executive Director of the North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault, is a former policy consultant for the NHL and a former Wake County School Board member. She holds degrees from Fayetteville State University and NC Central University.
2024 Margin of Victory: 60.38% (25,428 votes)

District 35: Mike Schietzelt (R – Wake)
Marine Corps veteran Mike Schietzelta litigation attorney at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, resides in Wake Forest with his wife and four sons. He is a graduate of UNC Greensboro and Duke Law School.

District 42: Mike Colvin (D – Cumberland)
Mike Colvina Cumberland County native, is a funeral home director and the brother of Fayetteville Mayor Mitch Colvin.

District 57: Tracy Clark (D – Guilford)
Tracy Clarka Greensboro resident and seasoned business leader in marketing and communications, holds a BA, MBA, and MSIS from UNC-Chapel Hill. She was appointed to the House in 2024 to fill a vacancy.

District 59: Alan Branson (R – Guilford)
Alan Bransona former Guilford County Commissioner and owner of a family-run trucking business, serves on the county’s Transportation Advisory and Volunteer Agriculture Boards. He resides in Julian with his wife and two children.

District 62: John M. Blust (R – Guilford)
John Blusta practicing attorney and Army veteran, served over 15 years in the NC House (2001–2018) and as Guilford County GOP Chairman. He was appointed in 2024 to fill a vacancy.

District 67: Codey Huneycutt (R – Montgomery, Stanly)
Codey Huneycutta former NCGA staffer of eight years, resides in Stanly County with his wife. He is a graduate of Stanly Community College and UNC Charlotte.

District 73: Jonathan Almond (R – Cabarrus)
Jonathan Almond, controller for a Smithfield’s Chicken N’ Bar-B-Q franchise group, holds degrees in Accounting and Finance from UNC Charlotte. He lives in Cabarrus County with his wife and three children.

District 82: Brian Echevarria (R – Cabarrus)
Brian Echevarria, originally from Miami, is a financial advisor residing in Cabarrus County with his wife and three children.

District 83: Grant Campbell (R – Cabarrus, Rowan)
Dr. Grant Campbell, an OB-GYN practicing in Harrisburg, served three tours in Iraq as an Army doctor. A UNC-Chapel Hill Medical School graduate, he is Vice Chairman of the NC State Board of Community Colleges. He resides in Cabarrus County with his wife and two children.

District 94: Blair Eddins (R – Alexander, Wilkes)
Blair Eddins, an NC State graduate, works with Samaritan’s Purse in North Wilkesboro. He grew up on a family farm and is married with two adult children.

District 95: Richard “Todd” Carver (R – Iredell)
Todd Carvera lifelong Iredell County resident, is an Air Force veteran with over 30 years in law enforcement. He resides in Mooresville with his wife and two adult children.

District 97: Heather H. Rhyne (R – Lincoln)
Heather Rhynea licensed pharmacist with over 25 years of experience, resides in Lincoln County with her husband and two children. She was appointed in 2024 to fill a vacancy.

District 98: Beth Gardner Helfrich (D – Mecklenburg)
Beth Helfricha third-generation Davidson resident, previously worked as a public school teacher.

District 100: Julia Greenfield (D – Mecklenburg)
Julia Greenfielda nurse with extensive ICU and trauma experience, has been a long-time Charlotte resident.

District 107: Aisha O. Dew (D – Mecklenburg)
Aisha Dewa Charlotte-based political strategist, has managed campaigns including that of Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles. She is Political Director for Higher Heights for America and a Salem College graduate.

District 111: Paul Scott (R – Cleveland)
Paul Scott, the Senior Pastor of Big Springs Baptist Church, has served in that role for the last 15 years and is notably replacing longtime House Speaker Tim Moore.

District 112: Jordan Lopez (D – Mecklenburg)
Jordan Lopez, an East Charlotte native, holds degrees in Political Science (UNC Greensboro) and Public Administration (NC Central). He has worked in non-profits and advocacy for East Charlotte.
